Brent Jensen had a rural upbringing in the rolling hills of Wyoming. In sixth grade, he won a state-wide art contest and never looked back. After receiving his B.A. in Art from the University of Utah, he worked as an architectural illustrator. Now, as a full-time oil painter, Brent travels extensively to paint on location.

His numerous painting trips along California's coastline are among his favorite painting vistas. Brent is equally comfortable painting landscapes, seascapes, and architecturally interesting homes and buildings. Enjoying the discovery of what the next corner will bring into view; Brent has made two cross-country painting trips. When the weather is not conducive for outdoor painting in Atlanta, Georgia, Brent focuses on studio work including still life compositions.

Inspiration comes to Brent from studying the Impressionist masters, Alfred Sisley and Camille Pissaro as well as early California Impressionists, Sam Hyde Harris and Alson Skinner Clark. C.W. Mundy, a contemporary teacher and mentor, continues to influence Brent's work. The science of painting blends with his passion to remain true to nature's color tones. Although the recipient of several awards, the most rewarding moments come when an art collector shares the names of great artiest whom they collect and add a Brent Jensen to their collection.
