Artist Bio: ADELINE HALVORSON
Adeline Halvorson knew at an early age that she wanted to be an artist, and in her rural upbringing, animals played a very important role. Dedicating her entire working life to her career, she spends most of her time researching, creating and marketing her images to a growing group of collectors.
Halvorson is best known for accurate depiction of equine subjects, and the use of light that typifies her work. With sensitivity and a keen eye for anatomy, she captures the essence and personality of the animals that touch our lives -- the everyday workers, the faithful companions. "I paint the subjects that are true to my heart, and definitely believe the words of Sir Winston Churchill - There is something about the outside of a horse that is good for the inside of a man".
Adeline has won several awards and recognitions including; 2003 First Place - Draft Horse Classic Art Show - Grass Valley, California and the 2001 North American Horseman's Association Equine Artist of Distinction. She has also exhibited in several major juried shows including; 2004 - 2007 Calgary Exhibition and Stampede, 2003 Draft Horse Classic Art Show - Grass Valley, California, and the 2003 Best of the West Show - Pine Top, Arizona.
Halvorson currently resides in Chilliwack, Canada.
