Artist Bio: KAYE BURIAN
As a long-time enthusiast and part owner of the Lazy 77 Ranch, North Dakota artist Kaye Burian has all the inspiration she needs right outside of her studio window. She has an appreciation of her natural surroundings as well as the wildlife, cattle, and horses who inhabit them. She feels that one can only paint what one appreciates and knows.
Kaye is an accomplished artist with a Bachelor of Science degree in art and elementary education from Dickinson State University. She was recently awarded the Distinguished Alumni Fellows Award in Fine Art from Dickinson State University.
Kaye's work has been featured in the Gallery Section of the Western Horseman, North Dakota Stockmens Magazine, The Red Angus Association of America Magazine, The American Hereford Journal and the Buffalo and Elk Directories. In 2007 she was also featured in the Magazine, Horses in Art.
Kaye was commissioned to do the official painting and print for the American Red Angus Associations 50th Anniversary in Denton, TX, the 75th Anniversary of the North Dakota Stockmens Association and the series of paintings and prints for the Mandan, North Dakota Rodeo. Her most recent print of Little Yellow Jacket, Three-Time World Champion Bucking Bull of the Year PBR, will go on sale July 4th.
Kaye's most recent works can be seen at Montana Trails Gallery in Bozeman, MT, J Moore Gallery in Bigfork, MT and at the Cowboy Hall of Fame at Medora, ND.
In 2006 Kaye was awarded People's Choice Award for her painting at the Wild West Art Show at the North Dakota Cowboy Hall of Fame at Medora.
